life is sweet!!

oh yaaa.. got a job at camp of champions!! (wich is the name of the summer snowboardcamp here in whistler) how i got the job is a long and wierd story, so im not gona say anything about it hehe.. i just still cant believe i got the job.. it REALLY is impossible to get a job there... but here i am, watchin the raindrops fall outside my window and waiting til tomorow when we're back on the glacier rockin the park!!! sooo stoked. about the job: its actually just volunterin so no money, but i get to ride the sickest park on earth, every day!! (except sat when they reshape the park for next session) soo, i work sun-fri, wake up 6am every morning, go to breakfast at 21 steps (restaurant in the village), where i do my first shift checking that ppl have their passes.. then, after gettin myself some bf, up the mtn, get up around 9.3 and can go ridin strait away! is suposed to do my next shift at around 1pm at the lift watching the coachline (so that no non-coaches sneak in there) whats good with having a coach line is that all of us who do not coach at the camp also get a "coach"-pass, so we dont have to stay in the loong liftline.. mee like!! :) even though im suposed to, i usually dont have to work my afternoon-shift, so basically i get to ride all day 9am-3pm!!

and the park, yeah it is sick! even though its mid-july i ride a park better then any other park ive ridden in winter-time.. soo wierd hehe

what else.. last week was super hot! +35°C every day.. soo nice! was pretty tired though, since i still work at milestones so my days from wed thru sun are wake up at 6am ride til 3pm go to work get home at 1am and sleep 4h get up at 6am.... so mon i was dead! fell asleep strait when i got home! but i quit my job and doin my last shift on sun, maybe next wed.. cant wait!! soo sick of that job right now!

played volleyball on tue again (that tournament i think i mentioned), this time we sucked pretty bad! lost both games... hmmm... gota win next time

and ye, we just got a dog in our house :) krista, one of the girls here, has been dogcarrying this fella and now it stays with us.. 

rebooked (??) my flight ticket today, took an hour or so on the phone but it was worth it. was just told that i could call air canada here in canada instead of calling some office in sweden (ive done that every other time) and stay up all nite and wait for them to open.. so im leavin for sweden on july 31st and arrives 1st of aug.. im kinda excited :) flying via toronto, never done that before.. fun! hehe

champ of campers

life goes on and summer arives slowly but steady..

me and some other "dusty's"-people (restaurant i worked in this winter) joined a beachvolley-tournament the other week. so every tues the whole summer we will head over to rainbow park and play. last week we played REALLY crappy!! didnt win a set.. but today we got it all together and played solid and actually didnt lose any set hehe... so we are excited about next week to see wether we can keep our exelence or not....

what else.... had another bbq at andrews the other nite (this time i managed to bring the camera) no rockband this time, but if possible more food hehe.. it was goood..

and yes, the camp of champions is here... http://campofchampions.com/ which means a lot of small rich kids in the village.. but of course also a lot of good riders on the glacier.. whats pretty anoying though is that our public park is next to the camp and, how should i say it, that camp park is insane... never EVER seen anything like it.. which make u just wanna go in there and ride.. hehe.. well well, we have lots of fun in our park to :) actually, im spoiled to ride such a good park in en of june!! cant believe its soon july.. so i guess i shouldnt complain...

went to andrews place last nite and had a bbg.. it was me, jesse, andrew, meg, dustin and anthony and a guy i cant remember the name of.. hehe so typical me..

played a lot of 'rockband' on ps2 (now i realize what people mean with getting addicted to it, its superfun!), ate a lot of food and played some crazy beergames... perfect nite!

time for some breakfast and then head in to village to watch some football (or is it called soccer, ben?? btw, when is england playing their first game??)

last day......

yesterday was the last day of regular riding.. the mtn closed for the season and we were hoping for a great finish.... well... it wasnt sunny and warm.. but it was cloudy and cold... hehe

today starts glacier riding.. have heard lots of people saying the public park (for everyone who dont wana pay 1000dollar a week for riding the camps) will be really good this year.. usually they wont make it as good as they could, since they think peple wont go to the camps then... but this year they realized they could make it good without making it too good.. hehe..

so im really stoked on rinding it..

detroit won the stanley cup and Lidström became the first non-canadian captain ever to win... thats pretty awesome! GO RED WINGS!

IRON MAIDEN!!

it was finally time to put on the maiden shirt and get ready for some real explosive and rockin' action! iron maiden was playin in vancouver and ofcourse did i have two tickets, for me and lisa. we were sooo stoked!! and what a show they gave us.. might have been the best maiden-concert (out of three) that ive seen.. all the good old songs were played and damn it was good!! i was smiling and screaming thru the whole show.. thanks lisa for joining me!

the most interesting part though was were i was gona spend the nite.. for some reason there was some kind of politic shit goin on at this very day so all hotels were fully booked and all hostels were full of maiden fans.. hehe, i was pretty shocked when i found it out and realized I had to find somewhere open all nite and take the first bus back to whistler the next morning.. found a tim horton/wendy's which was open all night.. after eatin a small shitty burger it was time to kill a few hours, this was around 10pm... i was pretty tired, but didnt want to fall asleep cause then i might get kicked out for sleeping at a restaurant.. so im sitting there freezing (was cold in there) wanting to sleep but knowing that i cant...I put a newspaper infront me and trying to make it look like I was reading it while hiding my eyes under the beanie.. hehe.. must have looked pretty funny..

but i made it, woke up at 4.15 taking a cab to the busdepot and jumped on the whistler-bus... u usually dont sleep much on the greyhound-bus, but for some reason i slept all way, duno why... hehe

vancouver trip

yesterday me and jesper decided to take a trip to van city.. it all started with both of us almost missing the bus because of "a while" of discussing wether we should go or not... so typical me.. hehe..

anyways, finally we sat on the bus, both excited to get away from the whistler-bubble..

we spent the day doin some shoppin, eatin, checkin in at samesun hostel and finally grab ourselves some well deserved beers.. we finally ended up on some kind of night club, for being a monday it was pretty busy and we had a great time!

waking up 8am morning after sweating my ass of, summer has arrived to canada and no aircondition in the room made it pretty warm..

hooked up with alex and jimmy next day doin some more shops.. and me who wasnt suppose to buy anything ended up with 2pair of shoes, 1 shirt, 1 surf dvd and some more stuff.. its hard not spending money in van..

now im suupertired so just gona put on a movie to fall asleep infront of... wonder what movie.. hmmm....

new house new roomates new weather..

ive just moved to a new house, 7th this season :)

why? my roommates and shred-buddies just left me this saturday.. actually they've been dropping of for the past weeks one by one, but on saturday the last of the room-208 crew left..

and they got a really nice finish of the season.. we havent had too many sunny days this winter but finally the god of sun showed his pretty face.. and the way he did it... damn! never been ridin in such warm weather before.. +20 - 25°C... it was HOT! just chillin in the park, some got some good shots some didnt... hehe.. none of us couldnt stop smilling all day, it was sweet!

after that.. well believe me or not, but rain came... and shitty weather came... and the sun got afraid and left us.. and some big fat avalanches kicked off near the skiareas so theyve had the mtn closed for a few days now.. booooring! was up ridin today, in the rain, was pretty funny.. in the morning it was pretty much ice all over it and rails and jumps were fucked up bec of weather.. but after a while it softend up and we had some fun sessions..

so now its all about riding as much as posible, never know when theyll close the mtns.. and its not even far away till they close for real... hmmm.. why is time running so fast when ur here and not when ur in school or smth else boring?? well, seems like a sunny weekend, better wax the board and ride like its ur last day then..

weather sucks.. it really sucks.. ye i know we are in whistler and its all about grey and snowy days here.. but its mid may, for GOD sake.. should be sunny and soft park now.. instead we are kept home because of no visability on ze mtn... laaame!

but they say after rain comes sunshine, i wonder if that also includes whistler.. hmm....

went to vancouver last monday.. soo nice.. started up with some shopping and sushi all-u-can-eat (its mandatory when ur in vanc) before headin down to kitslano beach with beer in our hands... stayed there for hours drinkin beer, watchin the sunset and havin many of laughs!! will never forget this nite!

so what do u do?? well, just checked out some snowboard teasers for next winter.. saw the forum teaser.. hmm... looks okay.. but its not the same anymore.. not the same team that killed it around 1999/2000 so i couldn't help watching some old clips from technical difficulties and true life... back in the days fourstar was the only thing important for me and daniel.. i remember buying those vids like it was yesterday and how stoked i was seeing them over and over again.. those were times..

telus snowboard festival is over... wasnt to stoked about the organisation at the festival, pretty lame.. but the finish.... damn, what a finish of a festival...

sunday was coold... really coold.. at least as cold as saturday, which means -17°C.... brrrr..... but me and henrik had to go up anyway... whistler mtn was closing for the season, so no weather in the world could stop us... not even GUDRUN-weather...

after a few hours on the icy mtn we ended up in the village in front the main stage watchin freeflow and later on michael franti play.... damn it was good...

after doin my last day as a dishwasher at Dusty's we stayed and watched the jamaican reggae-band playing.. ohhhh... it was sooo good... they played for like 2,5h and i was smiling for 2,5h... one of the best band ive ever seen and maybe my best nite in whistler..

watched the superpipe finals today.... freeezing cold... brrrrr..... and the riders werent killin' it at all.... but who cares... on thu, me and henrik went to the Pro photographers showdown... 5 photographers from all over the world were showing their best pics competing about 10.000 dollares and a camera worth 5.000..... frode sanbech were there, he is soooo good... too bad he didnt win, dont ask me why, cause he was honestly showing the best photos... BUT.. who cares...

at some moments u dont care about anything and this is one of those moments..

last tuesday me and henrik went down to van for some sushi and beer.. 

our friend Julian had his last day in the city so we expected a big nite..

after a lot of sushi and shops we went down to the beach in the sunset.. beer, sun and good friends.. cant be better :)

we later ended up on (dont know the name of the) street at the (dont know the name) bar.. it was great fun and an unknown amount of beer later we thought it was time to call it the day, and said goodbye to julz and his girlfriend.. another day in van was completed

back in whis and back to reality... hehe.. saturday was one of the hottest day ive ever had on any mtn, +15°C  and i was sweatin my ass off... but i wont complain, sun is what we all want, especially now, when its grey and shitty outside, dont really get this weather over here....hmm..
